Creightons Grief & Loss Seminars

Posted 13 May 2013

Creightons Funeral Service will host two free seminars in June with special guest presenters from The Salvation Army Counselling Service, which will shed light on the complex and emotional grieving process.

The first seminar, Understanding Grief & Loss, will be held on Tuesday 18 June and is for members of the public who have recently lost a loved one, or who are supporting someone who is grieving. Whether anticipated or not, the death of a loved one is one of the most stressful experiences that one will encounter during life. Grief is our response to this loss and is a normal, natural and healthy response.

In addition to the public seminar, Creightons will host an event on Tuesday 25 June with presenters from The Salvation Army Counselling Service designed to assist professionals who often work with recently bereaved people (including clergy, nurses, social workers and school counsellors) to guide people under their care through the grieving process.

Both the public and professionals seminars are free to attend:

Public Seminar
Tuesday 18 June - 10am to 11.30am
Greenway Chapel and Memorial Gardens

Professionals Seminar
Tuesday 25 June - 10am to 11.30am
Greenway Chapel and Memorial Gardens

RSVPs are requested by telephone on 02 4324 1533, or by email to

Mother’s Day at Palmdale

Posted 3 May 2013

Mother’s Day marks a day of celebration to honour our mothers and celebrate motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. This also marks a busy day at Palmdale Lawn Cemetery and Memorial Park and Western Districts Chapel, Lawn Cemetery & Memorial Park as families come to remember and pay tribute to those women in their lives who they have lost.

This Mother’s Day on Sunday 12 May, Palmdale and Western Districts will be offering free pancakes, tea & coffee to all visitors to the park from 8am to 12pm. Volunteers from North Gosford Rotary and Dubbo West Rotary will be preparing and serving the refreshments and the Palmdale Group are pleased to have their ongoing support on this day.

Please join us this Mother’s Day for morning tea and a light refreshment and make it a special day to remember.
